Default Broken bonnet cable

Hi folks. Can anyone advise me how I might open the bonnet on my mk1 75 please? I managed to get the box where the cables meet out into the wheel arch only to discover that one of the cables has snapped at the bonnet catch end. Any solutions would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You need to undo the bonnet striker pins, they are secured with two 10mm headed bolts on each one, you can access them with an 'S' Shaped 10mm spanner.

Thanks for the reply. How do I access the striker pins with the bonnet shut?

Once you're in, we have a set of all 3 bonnet cables for the price one normally costs: https://www.dmgrs.co.uk/products/rov...0140-fse000150

You will probably find in detail what you now have to do if you have a search of the HOW-TO section in the forum.

Quite a lot of folk have had the problem you are now facing.

Several ways out of it I believe.---

If you can get one side to release the first lock, the one operated but the cables, you may be able to get to the other side with a hacksaw blade to cut thru the "pin" that wont release.
I'm assuming a cable between splitter and bonnet has snapped.

Seen this operation done at one of our Nano meets. Don’t forget to put a couple of layers of tape to the edge of the bonnet. Unless you are confident that you won’t scratch it with the hacksaw blade.
