Smile I want one of these - in fact I want two

This is one of the air jacks used today by Event Tyres (mobile tyre service).

Made by Selson (Australia) it's an excellent bit of kit, doesn't get in the way of work areas and is a piece of cake to use. Two will lift one side of the car off the ground in under three seconds with no damage at all to the sill jacking points.

Each jack has a 2.5-ton lift capacity (5 tons per pair). If you've got a compressor this is the gizmo to use. (Might be of interest to Lates & Jules).

Four of 'em would get the whole car off the ground safely and quickly. Very impressive indeed. Cost: £250-£300 per jack. Website here http://www.selson.com/

Btw: Event Tyres - good prices, nice helpful ops, highly recommended http://www.event-tyres.co.uk/

Note to Lates: car has new boots. Now for the alignment at Silverline.

Yes, but perhaps one's best not to trust kit like that...

BANG!

Looks a very handy piece of kit.

I have a 2 Ton lifting bag that's pumped up by exhaust gasses very handy for getting a car lifted when there isn't enough room to get a jack under. (But it needs axle stands handy as it's not that laterally stable unlike the one in the pic's)

Would love a pair of those though

Russ

I've also used Event tyres several times in Warwickshire - they are very good, turn up on time, and do exactly what they say on the tin!

I go 4 new Michelins from them about 6 months ago. Turned up on time, very freindly and efficient, and to top it off, they were also cheapest! (only by a few pence though). I would definatly recomend them.

Those jacks are impressive as well!

Bags very similar to that are used as springs on a number of cars and trucks. After all the principle is the same as your tyres and you trust them. (Or maybe you don't?)
