Default Dashboard config questions...

Hello All...
quick questions that will take you seconds to answer...

I've been looking at loads of stuff on ebay for the 75 and I've got a few questions.

In the forums for ICE there are quite a few on the 4:3 display. But I also notice that there is a 16:9 display that seems to be a BMW part

With me having a symphony display..what do I need to know about upgrading my car?
What i mean by this is...the configuration steps from symphony to full blown tv & gps with cd changer...

First step...Say I go from Symphony to Hi Line...4:3 display...
without running tv or GPS...
can I do this and just run the radio & cd?
Also what would be the part number for the display?

Next step...say I go from Symphony to Hi Line with a 16:9 display?
Same as above...no tv or gps...Can I do this?
What would be the part number for the 16:9 display as there seem to be posts about BMW E46 parts...?
Is there language setting in the 16:9 modules if they are BMW parts...?

If I can fit either of the above and run them without TV or Sta Nav then when I got to a point to do it, I could do it in stages...
or
Is it a case if I choose 1 option I have to choose the whole shebang?

cheers

Gary

Have a look at the above thread.
The "How To" shows you what is needed to get the sat nav system installed.
It's not possible to just have the screen, you will need everything in the "How To".

Once you get the sat nav installed you can then upgrade to a 16/9 screen..

Try this: http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...ead.php?t=3629

2.706 views so you and the others must have seen it. Almost as much as the Sticky: realy, realy usufull (ICE) info with 2.800 views

Everything step by step, with problems solved and unsolved. At least it gives you an impression of a part of the whole shebang!

Maybe also wrong answer......

Regards ralph

Bypass the 4:3 setup and go for 16:9 with DVD MK4 Computer, BM24 TMC Radio Tuner and of Course the 16:9 TV Tuner then in my Opinion you will have the Best system for Car and saves swapping Bits Later.
The Freeview Digital TV Tuner add on can be added on as they say Later.

Or go for the More reasonable 4:3 System with a 2008 up to date Map Disc.

I'll go now before People start throwing things at me.......................

Cheers for the links guys (Oh my god! what am I letting myself in for!)

JohnDotCom...I've seen somewhere in the forums a radio tuner BM56 (i think) and the guy who installed it was saying how much better it was...
Also...the 16:9 display...have you got a part number for me to look for?

the other stuff...I've seen & read about on the forums so I don't think I can go wrong with them...other than prices!...

And just goin back to my previous thread about the S634 changer...it was on ebay and I got outbid!...Grrr!...next time...
so i'll be watching ebay for quite a while...storing stuff up for a major install...

The BM54 is a Lovely Radio unit and More Expensive but is not a Direct swap and a Special Converter lead is Needed from BMW at around £90 as its got Square Pins not Round.
The BM24 is a Direct Swap and the Quality is Much better than thew Rover Fit one.
It also gives you permanent on TMC facility as has 2 Tuners.

Part Numbers To Follow.
Just make sure comes from BMW E46 model!
