Symphony unit unusual fault
Decided to fit my old Symphony unit to my wife’s MK2 75. Plug and play as I thought, checked it worked and put it all in the dash.
However, as soon as I put it into D for drive, the unit keeps cutting out and showing “PHONE MUTE” Then it simply flicks back and forth to either normal radio or phone mute. Faulty unit or a wiring problem? I’m a bit stumped.

Check to see if any wires are connected to pin 1 on the large grey ISO plug This is the same plug that the steering wheel control wires are connected. Pin 1 is telephone mute, cut any wires connected to pin 1. Dave T |

Thank you. It’s still light so I may try it now. Could be that simple.

Done and working. Many thanks indeed. Always liked the Symphony unit in my first 75 and glad I kept it along with the walnut facia to add some class!
