fault code
A warm welcome to everyone, as a new member i hope im doing this right, i have a problem
with my immobiliser? A fault code of p1666 has appeared on diagnostics program, can someone please help? The problem i have is plenty "plenty of power in battery, lights up dashboard ok but after that no power going to anything" any ideas anyone? Many thanks |

You haven't replaced your key case? If so you need to swap the chip in the case over.
If not check the chip in the key you are using, and if you have a spare key try using it. |

many thanks mike for the poss answer on how to cure with the chip in the key, i do have a spare key, il try that when i get home and let you know if its cured |

If you have swapped key cases, then if you just put the old key close to the ignition lock, it should work.
There is a tiny removable transponder supposed to be in each key and without that transponder, the car is immobilised.

fault code
Morning everyone,
I tried using my spare key as suggested but the car still wont start, still plenty of power from battery to light up the dash but car still wont click or turn over, so what i tried was take key apart as to change the battery in it and tried to start car dash lit up saying "engine immobilised" put chip near it and the dash cleared so that tells me the chip works? Could it then be the immobiliser? Anybody help please |

Both keys give engine immobilised on the IPK ?

It only shows engine immobilised when the chip/transponder is not part of key, when all put back together the ipk doesnt show anything
