Default Fuel Burning Heater----Another One.

Well I've taken the plunge, and pretty much followed Eamonns route. FBH arrived this morning and looks pretty much intact. It is however missing the exhaust pipe.

Fuel pump has been ordered via ebay.de and that should be here any day. I'll take some photos and post up a bit later on.

Its a shame you had ordered a fuel pump, I have a brand new one complete with the right mounting bracket for the 75's & ZT, I brought a new one a while ago, not knowing the s/h unit I brought would come with one.

If any one needs one please let me know.

David, if you need one urgently you could have mine and then forward yours on when it arrives. I think I paid about £30.00 including the postage for mine.
Or perhaps get in touch with your suppliers and see if it has been dispatched yet, if not cancel it and have mine.

Well, it's in all bar the shouting (and the fuel pump). Thanks to Tony and Eamonn, it really is a piece of cake to fit.

By juggling the clamps round I managed to loose less then half a jam jar of coolant.

I gave it a good clean before fitting, so hopefully it will work when the pump is fitted.

That was a quick installation .

It is quite an easy fit, isn't it? The most difficult thing (for me anyway!) was standing there with a stanley knife in one hand and a the coolant hose in the other, and forcing myself to cut the hose .

Hope the fuel pump arrives quickly - you could be getting the wire from under the back seat ready while you are waiting.

One last thing if you haven't already checked - which ECU version have you got? Chances are that its the later one, but if its the earlier version then you may need to swap pins 1 and 3 on the six pin FBH connector if your car has the later wiring.

Are you going to do the parking heater?

I've only just managed to get the seat base back in and anchored on both sides.......

I haven't checked yet, as I'm not sure what to look for. I'm still search and printing out all the threads.....

IIRC, it should be printed on the sticker on the front of the FBH. It will either be 66232C(earlier) or 98570B(later). Chances are that its the later one, although the earlier version is more functional for parking heater purposes as the blower output does not switch until the coolant has heated up.

As for the parking heater, go for the remote option. You know your car deserves it .
