In that case, you need to put a ground on pin 3 to fire up the FBH.

Will give it a try later today, having read through this thread and linked ones plus downloaded all the pdf's, if the FBH is working correctly will go for the timer mod to get the parking heater part fitted and working.
thanks for the help.

Thermo TopZ

My presently factory original FBH contains the same Identifications as those quoted here. I searched 3 suppliers for a replacement after the PCB started exhibiting the faults of starting up the heater when I unlocked the central locking, and also frequent lock outs and white smoke. All three offered JEC104391 as a replacement for JEC104390 and having received the new part today I note also that the other code 66724A has changed on the new one to 66724B.

Can anyone confirm that replacement should be a direct swap, or is any change needed to the 6 pin plug?

Thanks.

My FBH does absolutely nothing as far as I can tell. So having had a word with my tame mech, he admits to not having a clue as to how it works, So I had him bypass the unit altogether by taking both water pipes off and joining them together. Do I need to unplug the plugs?

I will have to find a place that can fix this unit eventually.

But meantime I have discovered that the thermo is working at least some of the time, i.e. The top hose suddenly gets hot after a few mins, the guage gets up to temp, but then drops off again to barely register. But the car heater seems to copy it and also goes much colder when the temp guage goes down!!

At the moment, it looks as though summer will be here before I sort things out! ..

Edit- I decided to pull both plugs on the FBH as I dont want it going BANG! lol.. It is now isolated completely and will remain so untill I can get it repaired..
