Oil light coming on..diesel.. - Page 2

Smell the oil and check for 2 things has the level risen and does it smell diesel.
This is just a case scenario.
Increadbly rare but I have had it happen high pressure pump fail. And diesel thinning the oil.
Mine failed spectacular . Oil light coming on at low revs randomly for a couple of days ,
checked oil and level was just over Max.
And for some reason I thaught nothing of it
Possibly thinking I imagined the light as it was a quick flash.
Driving along and noticed fuel light coming on un expectedly.
Then a loud rattle sounded like crank shaft and biggest cloud of smoke all in a split second.
Thaught engine failed in a pub talking spectacular fashion.
It was my high pressure pump seals .
Pumped diesel into the oil.
All fixed now obviously.

Although most likely to be pressure switch
