Flickering headlights...
First, Happy New Year.
Now to the problem. The Raptor has been running well, all things considered, but lately she has developed a bit of a twitch. When indicating left or right (mostly right), the xenons start flickering, initially in time with the indicators, then randomly for what seems like eons. I have noticed that the fan speed of the heater rises and falls too. I have been told that its the regulator on the alternator (well it is 20 plus years old!). What do you folks think? If it is the alternator, I have a replacement that I have refurbished, but it would seem like a wasted effort if the problem is elsewhere. As always, any advice gratefully received. Dale

I had a similar problem, dashboard lights flickering and also headlights.
I was advised to put a new regulator on and new brushes, which I did without having to take alternator off. This was about 4 years ago and all is still well. |
