Auto gearbox selector removal
Hi, does anyone have any tips for the removal of the auto gear selector knob please? I need to remove the centre console and Haynes says "Pull up sharply on it" and the workshop manual "Put in neutral and pull up".
I'm not Geoff Capes, but no matter how hard I pull on it it does not budge. Is there something I'm missing do you think? Michael |

Exactly that.....pull up sharply with both hands but keep your head out of the way because it can release suddenly!
Put the handbrake on & move the selector to neutral (N) or wherever you can get the best leverage. I've always found neutral to be the best position. |

Many thanks for your replies. I did do a quick search before posting, but after a bit more detailed looking found I'm not the first with this! So braving up I used a bit of leverage which worked really well. (Crowbar and wood pivot support to floor). I'll load a picture when I can work how to get it uploaded.
Thanks again, Michael |
