Default Auto box advice(ford)

Afternoon all

I have a small issue with the auto box in the explorer...
Every so often the overdrive light will start flashing and you can feel that it's not kicking in.
It might come on after 5 miles or not at all after a 300 mile journey.
Once its lit , if you stop , turn ignition off and on again it clears the light and works fine...but might start again or not.

I've been told that it's the torque converter solenoid.
I can order one in from the states but having no experience changing one before does anyone know if it is a simple job.
It looks like its held in by 1 bolt.

Is it a case of drop the pan , and change it over?

Thanks

Stan

I have not got the first clue to be honest, but a search on Google, seems to to shows it is a relatively common problem (plus as it is an American 'truck', I imagine you will not be the first, and therefore many people will write online to find out an answer).
