The big ones I believe are the same as the Leyland Roadrunner & also the earlier Daf FA 45, the later facelifted 45 from about 98 on iirc had different headlights
And some buses.

Sant Plating in Sheffield could possibly re-do them.
I was working there the other day, they chrome plastic waste pipes and traps for all those fancy bathroom people.

It's the big headlights only the van had the small ones, I have a van and the headlights are far better than the car but as it's a restoration job I need to keep it original
Can anyone actually paint reflectors to a mirror finish?

If there was a satisfactory paint-on system, they wouldn't use electroplating which is complex and expensive. The best you can get with a paint is a shiny silver finish which doesn't last all that long (in my experience anyway). There are ways to spray on a metallic silver finish, which looks like chrome, but again the longevity of silver even coated, is limited. And silver is rather expensive too.

Drew Pritchards Salvage Hunters : Classic Cars, last night, featured a firm that painted a Mazak boot handle/ number plate light from a Volvo, with chrome finish and you couldn't tell it had been painted, not plated

These look pretty convincing don't they, but it's not in the same league as genuine chrome plating.

Neither of these demos is actually spray painting. Notice it all looks like water spraying. They're actually depositing a metallic silver film a couple of atoms thick onto the prepared/primed surface. It uses silver nitrate solution which reacts chemically with glucose solution. Exactly the same process they used to make telescope mirrors by. As a chemist and one-time telescope builder, I've done it myself and it produces a wonderfully reflective surface. The problem is, it's extrordinarily fragile and has to be overcoated with a laquer of some kind to stop it going black. Even so, it needs replacing every few years depending on the environment it works in.

I've got a few months before the car will be anywhere near ready so maybe some NOS headlights will appear on ebay
