I had a very lazy day yesterday, as befits a 69 year old - waited on hand and foot by SWMBO (nowt new there then!)
Today is the family get together lunch - eight of us for a 4.30pm roast beef dinner, followed by home-made bramble and apple crumble: I suspect there's a birthday cake hovering around somewhere - hope it's chocolate
The missus was struggling to get me something sensible for my birthday - so I've ended up with a Supercar Taster Experience at Teesside Motorsports Park. I get to choose which car I can use for a few laps under the eye of a qualified racing instructor. Now which should I pick:
  • Ferrari (California or 430)
  • Aston Martin (V8 Vantage)
  • Lamborghini (Gallardo)
  • Audi R8 (4.2 litre V8)
  • Porsche 911
  • Mustang GT 5.0

..... decisions --- decisions
I guess it will be a stick shift, I'd go for the Aston Martin, no offence to the Audi and Ferrari owners in the club .....Rod, have fun choosing

My daughter bought me a similar gift a couple of years ago, and I opted for the Subaru Impreza WRX STi - which was great fun. I must admit, I am tempted by the Aston - would I need to wear a smart suit and bow tie ?

Lonely days are long
Twilight sings a song
All the happiness that used to be

Soon my eyes will close
Soon I'll find repose
And in dreams, you're always near to me

I'll see you in my dreams
And then I'll hold you in my dreams
