Default shoddy quality!

A while ago i bought a set of used calipers with the intention of restoring them and replacing the rusty brakes on my tourer. A short time after, i was given my donor tourer which I also removed the brakes to renovate. The problem with both is that the bleed screws all seem to be different sizes and 2 of them have sheared off whilst I was trying to undo them. This has left the calipers unusable as the bottom half of the screws are now stuck and dont seem to be made of steel but some cheap alloy (a bit like the balljoint fork-type splitter than broke on first use, very similar material). Any ideas if I could get these bits out of the calipers?

1. bang an allan key into the bleed nipple and undo.

2. strip the caliper so there are no seals in it, heat it up, bang an allan key into the bleed nipple and undo.

there are a few other ways to try such as drilling it out or as much as you can and then try to collapse the nipple in on itself

Try some screw extractors as below.

Method 1 worked for me.

There are also somewhere out there stainless replacements. My problem always is i can never remember what sizes i need, and many of the kits supplied often have the wrong sizes in them

Probably around forty years of trying to use easy outs and not once have I found success. In the larger sizes yes they can work, but for a brake nipple forget it.

If ever I have to undo a brake nipple, before trying to undo it i tighten it slightly, I also tap the side of the nipple with a 3/8” pin punch and hammer at different positions around its circumference. I can’t recall this method ever failing me. Once out some grease on the thread is a must for future.

Sorry can’t help on the sheared nipples, without some nice machinery you will find it difficult to remove. Just put it down to experience, suck it up and purchase a recon calliper, greasing the nipple before using.
