Default MG 7 heater panel

I fitted an MG7 heater panel a few months ago and I'm generally happy with it
Today however it locked up , no controls worked , fan went to high speed and when I turned ignition off panel stayed illuminated.
When I took it out disconnected and reconnected it it seems ok.
Anyone else had this happen? Wondering if it's a one off or if it going to be a recurring problem that will need me to contact the seller

Could be just the connector pins needing a clean. Maybe give the pins and connector plugs a spray with contact cleaner. I have the MG7 aircon controller in my 75, but the only issue I had was the very dim screen illumination. I believe it's inherent to the design rather than a bad sample. OK in the dark, but in daylight I simply couldn't make anything out. I made a radical modification to sort it.

I fitted a custom back lighting panel with 18 amber LEDs. This is home made so a lot of work.

It required some serious reworking of the display holder so the backlight can project through. Not for the faint-hearted. This shot shows the work in progress.

I know with the Mg7 heater the demist test on the diesel will not work unless the engine is running, I found this out at a Nano meet after changing a fan over on a car then also changing a gold resistor twice thinking it could be that, we even changed over the control box PCB.

Hello there, the tips so far seem spot on - a bit of contact cleaner on both connectors is a good first step (followed by disconnecting and reconnecting a couple of times).

One of the plugs seems slightly more difficult to clip in properly than the other - this plus coming loose can also cause 'odd' symptoms like this. I found this out myself!
