Default Exhaust Manifold

Not the 75 manifold but the Honda 2.2 cdti. My son has this vehicle and he has been informed that to repair a cracked manifold (exhaust gases in cabin) it's going to cost over £700. More than 1/2 price of the car. Anyone had any experience of these cars? I have, as it was mine before I sold it to him over 5 years ago. It's a known fault and was replaced under extended warranty up to 7 years and 100,000 miles, but Honda won't touch it now. The vehicle has covered 102000 miles and has been fine up to now!

I sold my 2.2 Accord recently, it didn't suffer with this but it's a very well known issue.
Best bet is to bite the bullet and replace, so I'm told - a horribly expensive job.

Cast can be welded with mig but you need to get it red hot with a blow torch first
