Nice shots Podge.

Just look at the shape of those bows - what a beautiful ship. Wish I'd seen her go - brings a lump to the old throat .

The Southern Evening Echo was renamed the Daily Echo many years ago and has been a daily paper ever since. Its not been an evening paper for at least ten years. It changed when it moved to Nursling. :lol:

I think that's the second SS France - same era as SS United States (?)

The other great French ship was the Ile de France. Below is her main staircase. The liners of the 20s & 30s were real works of art.

Ken you are absoluteley right, but within the last fortnight they have done away with most of their own vans which were used to deliver the papers to the shops mid morning and the Echo now arrives at first thing in the morning with the rest of the dailies.
