Rest in peace little one.

Thank you to all those people who care enough about the safety and welfare of our children to put themselves in danger of physical attack and abuse everyday from people so dangerous they would torture and murder a baby.

Mistakes are made sometimes, systems run into problems but at least some people have the balls to walk into those houses and try to help. As somebody who has never saved a child from an abusive household I find it incredibly hard to make sweeping negative judgements about those that have.

May the little one Rest in Peace.

It's high time though that social services departments got it right. After all they've had long enough and too many cases like this one have happened.
If the system is wrong then change it.

I like JDC have had more than my fair share in my years with the emergency services having to deal with tragedies such as this. I remember occasions when there was urgent need of social services support only to be told that there wasn't anyone available, only minutes before leaving one of our satellite stations and hearing the "on call" social workers laughing and joking in the unit next door. From what I have seen and experienced they were, and continue to be a joke.

I feel most sympathy toward my collegues in the emergency services who have to cope with the aftermath of having to deal with these tragedies, for the emotional scars can last a lifetime.

Most perpertrators of assaults to children usually aren't dangerous to adults they are mainly cowards by nature and only hit helpless children. I cannot once remember an incident where I was threatened.

If a child is identified at any risk then it should be removed from the situation until those who would potentially harm the child have proven beyond doubt that they pose no threat. It should never be the other way round.

If the guidelines or current law don't support this then changes should be made.

It would now appear according to Reports,
that the Police wanted baby P to be put into care
But social services returned child to Mother.

Heard that on the radio this morning. So sad! Anyone in Social Services who had a hand in this case should drawn over the coals.
