Many years ago we used to be part of a VW camper club. One of the members used to bring his parrot along to the meets and holidays we went on as a club.
He had a cage for it that he used to carry on his back, like a rucksack. Took it everywhere with him

I guess it's cheaper and quieter than having a wife. Unless of course the parrot speaks like one!

Saw something similar in St Marychurch, Torquay. Man out walking with an Eagle Owl on his arm causing a lot of attention and in some concern, these are BIG birds. I had not long before been on a course learning about birds of prey and flying them. This included an Eagle Owl and a Golden Eagle and both can be dangerous and kill the unwary so took up an interesting conversation with him. He regularly took the bird out for walks and it was used to it and took all the attention it its stride. The fierce look they have in the eyes kept the unwary away.

My father is a bit of a bird lover.

When he was a young lad he rescued a Magpie, he nursed the bird back to good health and released it back into the wild. From that day onwards the Magpie would sit and wait on the rooftops each and everyday for my father to come out of school.

My father would get on his bike at hometime and start to leave the school grounds, the Magpie would see him and swoop down and land on his shoulder while he rode his bike all the way home.

One day my father went on a school trip, he was late getting back to school. The Magpie was no longer waiting for him, he never saw the Magpie again after that.
