unless I'm towing the caravan I'm not convinced a remap on a CDTI is required, a CDT it is. Of course this could be my driving style but even with a remap, it aint goinna win any races.

It all depends what map you have, the 140-145bhp map you've got is better than stock but more can be got out of these engines :-)

my 160 reamp I'm pretty sure is the one you will get from any of the traders here. As I said a CDT benefits, if my CDTI is standard, unless towing the caravan I'm not convinced it is needed but then that could be my driving style, after all.... it is a Rover 75, an old mans car

Am I right in thinking that in later years the CDT and the CDTi were the same spec ? I've read it somewhere

Sorry to be the bringer of bad news, but the "160" map doesn't actually produce 160bhp. It produces around 140-145bhp. Have your car put on a dyno and you will be disappointed . It does improve the power from stock. But there is still a bit more that can be had. The stock turbo can't reliably produce enough boost for 160bhp.

I'd quite like to see a dyno comparison of a 135 (129bhp stock). a "160" map, and a map from someone like Force Tuning or SAWS Tuning all on the same car on the same dyno, just to see what the outcome was.

3/ tyres.

4/ front suspension arm . ( Last week. )

Water leak in boot stopped.

That's the lot.----

I had mine on a rolling road 3/4 years ago and the reading obtained was 130bhp at the wheels which the operator reckoned on an auto was worth about 155 ish at the flywheel, I didn't get the graph as the printer was down and I hadn't gone for a power run I was trying to test for engine overheat under load/fan not working correctly.
What I do know is the difference after the remap was significant on my cdti making the car very 'driveable' and superb when towing.

I've so far covered over 70k on my 2004 CDTi, which I assume is standard and 131 bhp (?). I find it nippy enough, towed a caravan around the UK with five of us in the car. Without caravan went to Southern Germany and back, with the three kids (one 6'3" at the time, the other boy 6' and the lass not far behind with wife heavier than me with luggage for 2 weeks and 4 pushbikes on the rear towbar. Still did indicated 110mph plus on the autobahn and only slowed down because the windscreen wipers were flapping.

When it's right it's brilliant.

The same old argument keeps coming up from Mr Force's supporters, please don't come on here spouting that the map isn't as good as one of Tom's maps, our 160 remap does not cheat the fuelling and will not cause a fail at mot time and has been proven on the dyno to exceed 160 bhp.

I might be mistaken but i think Brian posted a graph showing max bhp at 166 on one of his.
