Default weird electrickery issue

Only happens on odd accasions , so not a major problem .

But..
Got an Android D/Din in the CDTi Auto with a Rear camera. been in for a few years.

Last year i found that when I braked the DDin screem would blank ,like when in reverse and show the coloured distance lines on the screen.

At that time this only happened on the Dual carriage way to work when braking harder from high speed for a turn off , never at low speed .

Its not happened for some time, but this week its appeared when just touching the brakes this time a lower speeds, again only at odd times.

weird ?..

Chris

Good chance that when the unit was put in it caught a wire. This over time may have caused damage to the protective plastic cover around the wire. This would explain the intermittent problem over time. Now the cover could be totally through and touching permanently a live point and so when the brakes are touched it causes the unit to go off.

My first thought is an earthing fault on the rear lights.
Is there any corrosion on the plugs going to the lights?
Before you touch anything though I'd get someone to check your rear lights while you use different combinations, side lights and brake, indicate (both sides in turn) and brake with and without side lights, rear fog lights along with all and any of the above.
Get them to look for any odd behaviour such as a light dimming or one coming on that shouldn't be.
When it first started on the dual carriageway, you say you were braking and preparing for a turn, were you indicating at that point? If so then I'd start with brake and left turn indicator

C .
Mine used to do that and it got to the point that no amount of cleaning and spraying would maintain a decent connection.
In the end I drilled a couple of holes in lamp assembly soldered cables to an appropriate point on the bus bars and ran them out through the new holes, then connected them with Scotchloks into the loom.
No more intermittent lights.
