Default Polishing Glass

Hiya all, is there a method for polishing the marks out made by opening and closing the windows or is it a case of swapping the glass?
Cheers, Dave

I believe that if the marks are really fine it can be done with jewelers rouge.--Generally though they are too deep to respond to fine polishing.----

Thanks for that, I've just searched the forum and it looks like new glass. That's a job for the springtime.

Hi Dave .
Make sure you clean out the rubber channels before you fit the new glass to stop the dirt and grit scratching the glass

Polishing glass requires some serious effort with specific polishing compounds and done by machine.

Even then it'll only correct very minor defects.

If there's anything that you can feel with a fingernail - forget it and replace the glass.

Is it worth it, they are very likely to scratch again.

The glass will have a normal life as it did from new.-However the rubber strips have to be thoroughly cleaned of all embedded grit.
