I messed about with the connector and the car ran with no problems nearly all week. No problems with the fuel injectors at all. No cutting out or coughing and spluttering at all. Sounds to me the connector or wiring is at fault.
Question if I may?
Is the connector and bit of wiring a separate bit from the main loom or is it part of the main loom?
I'm thinking if it's not part of the main loom I could replace it with a new one.
Please advise as this electrics is new to me.
HI Al.
The plug and it's wiring is part of the loom as you can see from this photo.

The plug connector is ringed by the dots in this photo.

As you can see it's part of the bigger loom, which all meet in the black junction box, if i have time today i will open the box up and see if the wiring is separate in the box but i doubt it.

Hi Al.
Yes the plug and wiring is part of the loom that go's to the ECM therefore if you manage to get a short piece you need to have it long enough to join at the first or second rubber grommet.
