Hopefully this will take you to an exact sign

I do not know if that exact sign still exists

the Ford is in Rufford Lane, this hopefully shows the road lay out and that people can drive a different route

Ian i hear you, but as we have already established therefore recognized and generally accepted, that some people a slow or dim.

The authorities in that area should put a barrier across the road or as i said put in a temporary bridge, why don't the people whom are onlooking or live there start a petition to get it sorted out ? does not make sense to me.

Why on Earth would you even attempt to drive through that.

You probably wouldn't see that until you had entered the water and by then it's too late.Needs large environment agency signs 100 yds back warning of the depth.Or better still close the road when the water rises above normal.

I bet you will find signs say "Ford". Drivers will also see water running across the "road", I was going to ask what more warning do they need and then thought, they drive through the water and knacker their cars so obviously they need more warning. But then, even with signs, what do they learn if they do not already know? Surly they will learn if they drive through and ruin their cars? A very harsh and expensive lesson, surly they would not do it again...... would they?

A bit like puddles, you dont know how deep or what is below the surface such as a pot hole, yet a lot of drivers seem happy to drive through them.

LOL Yes Stupid isn't going away any time soon, I've watched quite a few of those YT vids & I wonder if any of those drivers actually knew whereabouts or the height of their air intake, You can actually see the exact moment some of those cars engines hydrolock

Forget the insurance.

TPF&T? No Third Party or property to consider.

Comprehensive? P'holder wilful own damage (considered a crime). Would also attract bad reference at next renewal by another company because renewal with existing insurers would be er, prohibitive, even if offered. And - reckless driving would invalidate the policy anyway.

No apparent claim.
Such a 'driver' would find it difficult to get a Covid jab.

WILLFUL DAMAGE ????

That assumes the driver understands what he/she is doing.

If they had any sense at all they would know their car is not a boat.

The frightening thing is--they are amongst us.--

So Jon, what are you suggesting? A brain impairment that prevents him reading signs or depth markers? If so, there are clauses requiring the need for disclosure in every policy! They've got it very tightly sewn up.

An interesting point re insurance.

Ignoring the self inflicted nature for a moment, would it be considered an accidental damage claim for insurance, or a break down for AA / RAC? I mean, if their cambelt snapped due to their negligence, they wouldn't claim on their insurance, they'd call the breakdown truck. Or would they?
