Prince Andrew and police protection
https://www.reuters.com/world/uk/uks...on-2022-01-16/
If Prince Harry cant have police protection, does that mean Andrew cant?. I expect there will be those that dislike the Royal Family but we are talking peoples lives. Are these two, targets? Is there any status in killing Andrew as he is no longer HRH but is the son of a Queen? Harry is still an HRH but does not do Royal duties. I would have thought William was the more likely to be a target. I assume private security in the UK cannot carry guns, hence why Harry wants the Police. Perhaps our families are not so messed up after all macafee2 |

The whole situation is pathetic. Harry is still the queen's gandson and should be provided protection by the state.
Ex PM's (in many cases failed politicians) are provided protection by the state but not a potential future king, be it only 6th in line. It must feel like being constantly c****ped on by the establishment. PS I am not a royalist but a pragmatist.

If I read the article correctly, Prince Harry was wanting to pay for his own protection whilst in the UK but security services wouldn't share the info, good on him. I wish therest would offer to pay for theirs

would that raise the issue of a police force for the rich, a private police force? what would the officers assigned to look after him be doing if he was not paying, normal work, looking out for you and me? Would it be right for him to pay and take that from us? I know he wants to pay but he cant have it for free, if he cant have it for free will Andrew get it for free? The other issue is private security cannot carry guns, so could they protect Harry to the same extent as the "police"? macafee2 |

Private security firms do not (allegedly) have all the necessary security threat info that the police have access to, so could not (theoretically and practically) offer the same level of protection from those threats. Sharing of threat info could be self defeating due to the possibility of "leaks"!
