Default Ball joint cover size MG ZT 190

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone has the dimension of the ball joint cover for the front lower suspension arm of the MG ZT. Rimmerbros and my local MG garage do not have the part in stock anymore. I also tried ordering from https://www.balljointboots.co.uk, but 1 month and 2 emails later I am still without a cover.

https://www.balljointboots.co.uk/ states that the cover is 30x16x26.5mm, but I can't for the life of me find covers of this size elsewhere online. As I'm new to the game, I also don't know how bad it is if one of the hole sizes is of by a few mm. For example, I found a 30x17mm cover, but I don't know if it will fit.

Can anyone tell me which dimensions (if any) can deviate from the 30x16x26.5mm sizing? If so, should the holes be smaller or larger?

Thanks in advance for your help!

The one from balljointboots is a perfect fit.

I figured from previous posts here and the information on the balljointboots website. However, after ordering it I never heared anything from them again, and nothing has arrived yet. I also got no reply on my emails, so I have to find them somewhere else. Only problem is that I can't find any with the exact same dimension as the one on balljointboots.

I needed a replacement when a lower ball joint boot split on an arm I bought from DMGRS. They sent me a boot which appeared too small and from a track rod end but it stretched over as they advised and it fitted perfectly .

I see that I have two of those No. 4 boots in my spares box - I ordered 4 when they were replaced on my car.

If you are stuck, I can post mine to you FOC.

I had found Malc at balljointboots very helpful and responsive. Perhaps he is unable to provide the service at the moment.

Go along to your local Land Rover independent parts specialist and ask for a Defender or 90/110 drag link boot. It'll cost a couple of quid.

I fitted one to the 75 lower arm about 18mths ago, and although a fiddle to fit (the grease makes it slippery), it is working well and has passed two MOT's so far

I posted my spare two covers to the OP. We exchanged PMs.

When he's fitted them I expect we'll hear of his experiences.
