Lamborghini bids farewell to pure combustion cars this year.

Blimey! Another historic marque going over to the dark side Lamborghini is in it's final year of making only pure combustion models such as the Aventador as the sports-car maker switches its lineup to plug-in hybrids & pure electrics in 2024.

Let's see how many they sell after that, the Mini is going the same way after 2025. It'll be a real tester for the other makers to see how many will buy one. A Lambo` with an electric motor isn't going to thrill too many people. Who want's such a car to sound like a Hoover.

The Italian big three Ferrari, Lamborghini & Maserati lobbied the EU for a get out of jail card to be exempt from the ICE ban but looks like they failed, Ferrari will have a full electric car in 2025 when they wont be able to meet the Euro 7 & the Ferrari engine deal with Maserati ends this year too.



I doubt any new ICE car will make it past 2025 , That's when the next & very last Iteration of the Euro cat 7 emission standard comes into force, They will have to be 37.5% cleaner emissions than the 2020 Euro cat 6 standard which almost every mainstream car maker couldn't pass & were fined €billions in fines for going over those limits.
The only way a new ICE car will meet those stricter limits will be an electric axle/PHEV to get anywhere near the Euro 7 standard.

Easy to fit a sound system to give your car the noise you like, plus the electric cars will obviously out accelerate the ICE engine cars.
