True but by only a minute fraction. Magnets much too weak.

Totally agree the pollution is a disgrace. Goodness knows how they get away with it. Is it time to start holding the CEO's personally responsible?

When I worked on guided missiles ( Cough-cough ) we used magnetron magnets in some of the electronic equipment.

If you tried to push two together it was impossible.--If you had them the other way round when they would attract each other you had to be very careful as you could easily crush your fingers.

And YES.--These magnets would slow the meter.---
Thank you John for your comments. I remember you worked as a rocket scientist military so I bow to your knowledge and experience.

Wow. The board you had was quite modern compared to the one I started on.--Had wires down each side with a single horizontal bar across the middle. On this you placed your variable set square.--

I am told the French are cushioning their energy customers from the sort of bill increases we are facing. It does help that they have a secure nuclear resource for two thirds of electricity and not an over reliance on ‘town’ gas.

Yeah, most countries look after their industry better than us. The last time gas prices spiked (about 15 years ago.......?), the French administration paid the difference between pre-increased price and the additional uplifts. UK gov.....they just let all the smaller companies (glass makers, potters and such) go to the wall meaning we had to import the missing items. Good economics I hear.

We are going to be forced to compromise our drive towards green energy and extract the gas resources we have.

Looks like we're all at sea! The government announced today an investment of £32million in floating offshore wind projects to cut natural gas dependency.

We already have seven out of ten of the biggest offshore wind farms on the planet.

I would say the exact opposite. The sooner we invest in green energy, the sooner we will be less dependent on imported energy in all its forms.

Let's face it, the country spent £37bn on an ineffective contact tracing system/operation. Think what it could mean if we spent a similar amount on transitioning to green energy sources.
