Default Central Locking not Working?

Having removed the instrument cluster, I have taken the opportunity to install a new 'T' aerial for my GSM heater controller, behind the internal rear view mirror.

Ran the cable down the near side of the windscreen behind the door seal and then behind the glovebox, across behind the centre console to where I have the GSM installed in the drivers side cup holder.

Refitted the wooden dash, removed to get the cluster out plus a few other bits of trim.
Re-connected the battery.
Tested a few bits, lights/indicators & started the car, but did not move it.

All ok I turned the engine off and got out and tried to lock the doors, nothing!! Checked the light on the key fob, that worked.

As I had had ALL of the doors open I manually locked each door and locked the drivers door with the key.

Question: with the instrument cluster removed should the central locking still work?

Just to add a bit more info

When pressing the key fob button to open the doors, instead of open inning the drivers door only, all 4 doors unlock.

When you reconnected the battery, the car may have reverted back to one shot opening. It's a dealer option.

Yes I can understand that, but why no locking?

Try a full reset. Remove both battery leads, then away from the battery, touch the 2 leads together for min 30 seconds. Leave disconnected for 30 mns before reconnecting. Has solved many electrical gremlins and it's free. . Let us all know how you get on. Good luck
Lee.

OK

A little more info@

Just been out to do the reset as advised by Lee.
Before doing that I double checked the button near the gear stick, it both locks ALL doors and unlocks ALL doors.

Then disconnected the battery, both connections and held them together for 30+ secs.
While in there I checked the plenum, dry & no tide mark on the filter

Now off to send my inst' cluster to Rick, battery still disconnected.

On later models the remote locking sensor is in the vicinity of the instrument cluster, you may have disturbed something taking the cluster out.

Found an image of it in situ. Lives behind and slightly below the cluster.
