As with above maybe best to source a dry carpet which would save a lot of time

Don't know if this has been mentioned before but for anyone trying to source the connectors, Screwfix have them:

http://www.screwfix.com/p/plastic-ou...7-x-17mm/37103

These are 17mm, but with a bit of lube (Oeer missus) they fit fine.

I didn't use that connectors because i couldn't find 16 mm connector in here.
So i decided to make it in a different way. I used jubilee clip.

Carpet is dry after 3 weeks later.

Default Arctic's driver's side front sun-roof drain mod

I've just done the driver's front sun-roof mod following Arctic's great pics (having done the passenger side a few months back).

Just one point though - the photos for this (commencing post 21 in this thread) include figs 7/8 for removing the "little panel which holds the OBD wiring".

http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...=118622&page=3

The problem I had here is that the pics are taken with the carpet removed.
But if you are trying to do the mod with carpet in place, these 3 screws are not (or are much less) accessible and other trim panels need to come out.

I did manage to do it without removing the OBD panel - albeit with a lot of cursing. You can just about reach through to the drain outlet tube above the gas pedal with the left arm and manipulate the new connector into place one-handed (Vaseline essential).

Not being able to move the OBD wiring out of the way, I used a thinner but more flexible rod (similar to Arctic's curtain wire for the upper tube) for the outlet tube, having first trimmed the duck-bill end of it via the wheel arch.

One last point - trimming the duck-bill end of the tubes under the wheel arch is a must-do.
I did the passenger side connector mod some time back but didn't get around to trimming the tube. I paid the price when it silted up again. The new connector did its job but the water backed up to the top of the drain and came down through the roof lining.
When you set your mind to it, trimming the tubes under the wheel arch is by far the easiest part of the task and, for anyone whose car is still dry, may prevent the poor factory connection from coming apart in the first place.

By the way, this is by no means a 'complaint' about the pics - they are superb - I just wanted anyone doing the job as a preventative, with carpets still in, to know that it's still possible to do the job with the little panel intact.

Frank it as to be done to make sure, although I did find that the rear drain ones were quite clear after, you also have an email regarding our other item Arctic.

You can unblock the drains from under the car, that's usually where the dirt accumulates. The drains are behind the plastic wheel arches towards the back.

As the pipes join just above, be careful not to push the parts apart.

And, no. There is not that much trim to remove, if you have to go in there.

what, behind the plastic pieces behind the wheel that you can take off?

thats the thing...take it theres 4 of these, one at each wheel?

so if you have 4 wet patches at each wheel, theyre doing their jobs?

i checked my connector bit i did at the passenger side, it looks fine

i hosed water over the top of the car and yet again, water was pouring in the headlining...so, took the trim off, peeled headlining back and can see the tube whichi connects to the drain in the sunroof corner, but i dont think its there waters coming in...there looks like theres water on the underside of the sunroof itself?
