Question 2005 MGZS180 T4 Advice Required

A question for the T4 fellows?

My son has just obtained a ZS180, and we are currently giving it a fine detail review and tidying up a few things on it.

While hooking up with T4 diagnostics (DST0006V) mode to the engine ECM, I keep getting the message error no comms to EMS2000 while trying to view live engine data. I am able to read every other ECU with T4 no problem apart from the engine for some reason. Weirdly if I go into ECM checks and renewals I am able to reprogramme the engine EMS fully. T4 identifies the ECM in the VIN checks screen too.

To get round this issue I used the T4 HHT and with this I can get in and view live engine data no problem.

Do you know if there some kind of glitch with T4 and the ZS180? Could the reason be that T4 was not developed fully for EMS2000? Any advice would be most welcome.

Gary, there is a bug in all the diagnostic discs which causes it to fail, I have fixed this bug and compiled a new diagnostic disc (DST0006W) which allows the ZS 180 and Rover 45 V6 EMS2000 ems to be read correctly.
Let me know if you want a copy.

Phil,

I'm glad to find out that its not my fingers that the issue lies with. For sure a copy of the revised disc would be very much appreciated. I'll pm you for details.

Yes please Phil, I was frabbling away for hours a couple of months back with a ZS180 and ended up using TestBook 1 and DRM0016R
