My 75 is stood in my car park today waiting for DVLA to allow me to tax it!! And therefore drive it legally.

I already insured it, it is MOTd but I cannot drive it legally yet.
Need my V5 or V5C/2 which I do not have yet.....
I used my V5C/2 to SORN it two weeks ago.... My new V5 is still 'on its way' from DVLA.

Frustrating Easter in other words.

Any similar experiences on this site?
Must be plenty; )

Cleaned the air vents with some Qtips (clean ones) and a lot of patience. I hate seeing all the crud in there when the sunshine reveals it for all to see.

Then i did my ears (with clean ones).

I found out what is making that awful engine whirring noise.

Popped the belt off and ran car and noise went, manually spin the idler ancillary drive wheel and you can hear its not good, has some movement. £70 new approximate.

Is it best to replace the Tensioner ancillary wheel @ £90.00 new approximate ?

Well today started with the plan of fitting my newly refurbished Xenon headlights.

Weather was good, tools and parts required were on the shelf. Simple I thought.

Walking out to the car to get started, open the bonnet. The wretched thing popped out of its holder.

Luckily I know the way in if this happens. But long story short I ended up with the arch liner out and painting some rusty parts of my subframe/waxoiling. All just because of one blooming cable.

Luckily I am persistent and got the Xenons tested first (very important) and then fitted in a jiffy. At least gave the paint time to dry between coats.

I also found time to rotate my wheels and sort one of my heatshields that was hanging and even fit a new gear stick gaiter.

I was going to wash it, but after all that I'm due a coffee and a rest. Tomorrow is a new day.

I did what you suggested this very morning: )
I called DVLA & got a very pleasant Welsh accented lady....
And, to my surprise it was an easy 'fix'.
IE Just pay for it.
Which was all I wanted; )

Good advice in other words. Remember I had no V5 nor the V5C/3 which I used to SORN it previously.

A new owner might not get his new documents from DVLA for four weeks after purchase. (March 20 2015) In my case it was already registered to me at DVLA, insured, MOTd, but I didn't yet have the V5 in my letterbox.

Fair play to DVLA: )

A few little jobs. A warm day to be out

Arctic sent me a pair of immaculate illuminated sun visors a few months ago as my old ones had packed up. I swapped them over and they now work a treat. Many thanks Steve

The barrel ignition has been locking up, so I powdered some lead from a HB pencil inside and it was 'Cry Freedom'

I sanded down the electrical contacts in the rear light cluster, as the dash showed a bulb warning light failure. Did the contacts with electrical cleaner, so I am hoping that does the trick.

The rear drinks holder fell out. I used an epoxy resin glue to refit. So far, so good.

What else? I had to use a cutting paste to clear up the cloudy headlights. A slow and laborious task.

Default always the same.....

....things when you buy a "new" car.

So oil & filter, pads all round, bumper off headlights removed and cleaned and the wiring underneath sorted, intercooler o rings, and general cleaning of the bits you can't see.

As a pleasant surprise unlike every other 75/ZT I've ever owned, it doesn't need strut top bearings.

On the Anthracite ZT, it was new front pads, and daylight failed.....so the new discs and pads for the rear will be a job for later.

Loving working on my own cars, rather than someone elses for a change
