Yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting Rick-Sta who replaced my IPK screen.

Cleaned off the bird deposit, gonna have to move spaces at work, also changed front sidelight bulbs to standard. Previous owner put in LED ones. Looked like Saturday night fever going down the road, not good.

Gave up with the "trued up in the lathe" discs, the wobble was worse than ever. New f&r discs on tonight. Also tried to fit the dmgrs drop links gaiters - what a waste of time that was...

Drove 180 miles up the M5 and along M4 in 2 hours 40 minutes @ 42.1 mpg.
Not a bad return.

Why didn't that work then - how did you mount them in the lathe? And were you able to machine both sides without disturbing them once mounted?

Had a bent front hub on my car a few years ago. I changed the discs after a bit of wobbling and after a few months the wobble returned. Checked the hubs with a DTI and one was out.

Funnily enough I took a couple of thou off it to true it up at work and it is on the shelf as a spare. To date I haven't tried it though.

I trued them up with a dti to within a though or under on the mounting flanges. What I should have done is make up a mandrel from a drive flange and shaft, true that up and mount them on that. Given more time I will do this, I'm not too hopeful the new ones won't warp..

2. Tyre Protectors:

I have a pair of these, but can't really see them helping much - they might work, but just as easily they might not - anyone have any evidence of these actually working? I mean the tyre protectors.
