I purchased a MINI BASE CARRIER, part number 51 95 2 354 325 and it did not require any modifications to fit.
Car is a 2004 facelift saloon, were all head restraint spacings the same? I wonder if different makes have different spacing on the head restraints? I will now order another one for the other side - hopefully by using the same part number I will get an identical base to the one just received. |

Bit more research ....
51 95 2 354 325 is for the left hand seat 51 95 2 354 326 is for the right hand seat They are branded MINI, but it appears to be printed on and should be removable with some paint thinners. So, looks like I need to order a 59 95 2 354 326 then I should have a pair. (you have to assume that the head restraint fixings are the same both sides) |

That's interesting. I assumed all headrests and seats were the same. Mine is a Mk1 2003 with original embossed headrests and the pins are really close together. None of the Mini/BMW/Mercedes/Jaguar or Land Rover base carriers fit as they are for poles wider apart. So I guess the seats and headrests must have changed along the way. Result Ive been using the tables, hooks and hangers a lot recently and I like the system a lot. Very well made, solid, works a treat. Hope you get some bargains on the options like I did and thanks for the update

Picnic trays/tables were common in the 1960's - we had them in a Wolseley 6/110. Amazingly Jaguar deleted them in the 1970's (Mk10 Jaguars were the last to have them), and Rolls Royce and Bentley only have them by special order since the 1980's. Pleased to say my Daimler Super V8 has them as standard, along with reclining rear seats!
Plastic versions are now common on foreign models such as the Citroen Picasso from 2010, but are called business trays. |

I have now ammended the post to include the info you supplied regarding the differences in MK1 & MK2 facelift seats. Makes it a doddle for MK2 owners now wishing to fit the system. Many thanks

I fitted a pair in my P5B from a Vanden Plans 1100, they look factory-fitted. She's a saloon with optional rear bench seat so l didn't have the armrest table.
