Default fraud

A retail chain has left themselves open to fraud by giving good customer service. Not a big fraud, retail value £10. They are just the middle men, it is their supplier that should "pay". I am aware about sale of goods act and contract is with retail company. However in this case they wont I don't think have redress against their supplier.

Retailer sold an item that turned out to be duff. They gave a refund and told customer to keep item. Customer buys the same thing again so now has a new receipt.

Easy for customer to take receipt and faulty item to store or another store and get a replacement. To me that is fraud. No, I wont be going to the store.

I wonder what the majority would do?
