Thank You Artic, wrote to Rimmers and awaiting for a reply. Meanwhile I can't, however, understand, if powerflex is a good choice (never used one before).
Seen also some Corteco ones for sale which looks very similar to original ones. What You think? Cheers, c.-

An answer from Rimmers today:
Good afternoon Thank you for your email. We have checked our stock and all have M stamped on them so from the information you have provided that would indicate they are petrol mountings and we have removed them from sale. We have contacted the supplier to ask for confirmation that they should have T stamped on so please keep checking the website and as soon as we have stock available again it will show on there. Kind regards, Gary Rimmer Bros

They removed for sale the items as diesel part. So the KKH101402 is, at present, out of stock. Will see what happens. Meanwhile I've just purchased from autosc Germany a Corteco one. I have a used but in good condition 'T' one to compare with and update the thread of course

...so, after my mail, Rimmers update their website with a new picture showing a mount with an "M" impressed and a yellow dot on it instead of the original mount with a "T". It seems, then, that the mistery continues...

It makes me wonder if all these companies are not there to serve us, but to just take your money regardless of the quality or correct item. What this country needs in the motoring fraternity is a Ralph Nada, used to be the American leader for complaints against the motor industry. The amount of utter rubbish that is being sold over the counter as ‘original’, ‘oem’ and the suchlike, is bordering on the criminal. It is about time the government laid down the principles of trading bogus goods, and the punishment for doing so. Trading standards has a role to play in this, but the problem is, who has got the clout to actually punish those selling the rubbish, bogus, and in some circumstances, downright dangerous goods. Perhaps we should approach a magazine like Auto Express to carry out a trial of some of the #@&p that is being sold by these charlatan’s.Rant nearly over for today anyway.

Sharing info on this site about anything potentially dodgy is very useful and the best we can do for ourselves. 'Caveat emptor' will never go away. When I lived in Saudi Arabia I bought some battery terminals from a souk. put them on the truck, tightened and they failed. Went back. The little Indian guy brought out a large box and said 'take another sir, no problem!'. I picked one up and snapped it in two in one hand while testing it. So I tried another, same result. He got unhappy. 'You are too strong!'. Still makes me not sure whether to laugh or cry. |
