Cruise control issue- MG ZT 190SE Facelift
Hi and first of all thanks for all the useful posts that have helped me already.
I have just bought my first ZT and am aiming to bring it back to full health. At the moment I can’t get cruise control to work, initially even the master switch wouldn’t light up (turned out is had been unplugged.......). Plugged it back in so it now lights up but still no cruise control. I have checked the proximity switches about clutch and brake, repositioning them to be sure as describing previous threads. I have also checked the vacum line from throttle body to inner wing on the off side. I’m currently stuck at this point and any pointers would be great please. |

The switch in the facia is sometimes faulty- if possible test my substitution. Chris S.

As there are switches involved it could just be one of the switches.---

Colvert was spot on. Replaced the brake pedal switch tonight and all works fine now. Looking at the switch that came out I believe it’s a non cruise switch.

hard to tell the difference visually between non cruise and cruise brake switch.
Think the part number for the cruise has an “A” on the end ? |

Yes that’s right, I think the part number is on the rear and has no A on the end but wouldn’t be easy to get a pic of it as writing so small

The non-cruise switches are white (the slider inside the housing) whereas the cruise ones are black, for info.
See https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-XKB000022A I spent a horrible couple of days fighting with brake switches recently after retrofitting cruise on my 03 KV6 ZT 180 with no wiring! I can guarantee that the above switch is correct. There is another one available from Rimmers (colour blue, can't remember the part no.) which is billed as double-pole and which will also work. There appears to be absolutely no difference in the spec though and it costs a little more. Dougie.
