Merry thing everyone.
Quiet night of KFC & cider last night, just popped over to mother’s for dinner..........Just like my Dad wasn’t, I’m not interested in Christmas but she still likes to make a big thing of it and I suppose it wouldn’t be fair to leave her on her own this year

Afternoon all, it’s freezing cold today we have no snow here, but I collected mum to come and have her Christmas Day wit(nuts a couple of hours ago and there is a layer of snow there, she is 15 miles to the west of us. My cousin lives about 30 miles north west of us ,quite, out in the sticks and they have a good few inches from the pics she posted on fb yesterday.

I know the feeling Col, having lost my dad 3 weeks before Xmas 4 years ago I don’t particularly enjoy it, just enjoy the time off to re charge my batteries and spend time with my family.
We do it the other way, my mother comes to us,at just turned 88 with mild dementia, every remaining year she comes to us is precious.

None of that white stuff here, it’s all rather pleasant (until you set foot outside then ya freeze!)

I'm stuffed, Couldn't eat another morsel & I can eat two taters more than a pig
Looks like we'll have to batten down the hatches tomorrow with the arrival of storm Bella Weather warnings out for high winds tomorrow.

That's me stuffed too - after all the usual turkey, veg., potatoes in different guises (mashed and roasted), pigs in blankets, stuffing, bread sauce, Christmas pud with brandy sauce - we've now just had a small evening snack. Home cooked gammon, homemade sausage rolls and a bit of salad, followed by homemade sherry trifle (Angela's hand obviously shook when she put the sherry in !!) with lashings of double cream.
I'm slowly sipping my way through a bottle of Californian Malbec - whilst Angela has demolished a full bottle of some pale, sparkling pink, rosé concoction. She's gone a bit red in the face
