Medical Oxygen generators?
Away in the caravan and SWMBO has to have her regular supply of oxygen, which she gets from a small (well not all that small) mains powered oxygen generator, plus bottles when out and about. Its a small and quite heavy cabinet on castors, which is quite unwieldy in a caravan and noisy.
What I have done is moved it to the bathroom at the rear, fitted a socket and run the oxygen pipe under the cabinets to the front, which works well, apart from the room it takes up in the bathroom, but there is a wardrobe with cupboards under it in the bathroom and I could fit it in one of those, if it could be laid flat on its side. There is not much information on the internet about them, or how they work and no labels suggesting it has to be used vertical. I will of course be getting expert opinion, but past experience of the 'experts' suggests they may not even know - can this beast be laid on its side please?

I know nothing about these devices, I havent even seen one, however the word generator suggests to me that is needs some form of lubrication, be it sealed with grease or an oil supply. If tipped onto its side, could the lubrication be compromised by that?
I did a quick google and what came up, was oxygen concentrators. If it is a concentrator, there are quite a number on eBay (and elsewhere), suggesting they are available in a compact form to buy. I know it is not something to scrimp on, due to the medical importance of it, but it may give you ideas? Good luck with your search. EBAY SEARCH Google Oxygen Generators Wikipedia's How..... I can't say I've had any dealings with this type of oxy system, however I have worked on a couple. I'm afraid I can't help in your question. But I am curious, is it a filter bed type system that traps everything bar oxygen, or portable liquid oxygen?

[EDIT] They call it a 'concentrator'.

Hi Harry, my wife is also on oxygen and the booklet she got with her home concentrator lists two types of mobile units, one is Inogen, and the other is Sequal Eclipse. Both state they must be kept upright at all times..

I've managed to get an online response from the manufacturer and they are saying the same - it must be up right. That's a shame, we have nowhere to fit it out of the way, which is tall enough
