Default Sat nav shuts down with new disc..

Hi guys, number 3 of my questions tonight.

I have just aquired a new ish disc for my satnav..(from a neighbours beemer)

when I put the disc in, it locks up the satnav computer and causes the TV to go blank...nada...nowt.. no stereo or anything!
I have to wait with everything off until the satnav shuts down, then I can get the disc out..
Have any of you heard of this or similar and know of a solution please.. Its a VDO 2009/2010 disc..

Many thanks in advance....Steve

Sorry I should have said. It's a cd and has been used in a Beemer equivalent of our set up.
My old disc works in his but not the other way round!
