Morning all - a rather depressing day here. It's grey, cloudy, drizzling - but not as cold as of late. Kids back to school (well, some of them) today - with an instant increase in traffic. Where I live is a bit of a rat run - people use my road as a cut through to the local primary school. It's actually a longer journey - but by using my road, you avoid three lots of very high, and very rough, speed bumps.
We had a visit from the new granddaughter yesterday - I'm pleased to report that at the tender age of 3 weeks, she is showing NO signs of looking like her grandad

Morning all, welcome to the day
We have a stone mason today as we are moving the base of the ground floor toilet higher to assist with better drainage down to the septic tank, the pipes and drains were getting blocked, then the valve to the cold water tank snapped. Fortunately plumbers were here quick on their motorcycles and replaced the broken valves with new ones. |

Grass cut, weeding done, bird bath has had it’s yearly repaint, garage swept out. Coffee? Ok.
Waiting on the lady to come round and give me my monthly Covid-19 test. This will be no.9.

Our local ASDA has done away with tills & gone over to those self serve payment doodahs, I think I've used them five times before & five times I've had to wait for someone to sort the machine out ~I usually avoid them like the plague but I didn't know they'd changed over to them.
Today was no exception I went for some more compost as it was three bags for 9 quid, good stuff too. the bleddy thing wouldn't except my cash so I monster mashed all the keys in a paddy lol and had to wait for the lady supervisor to sort it out They look at you strange if you want to pay wi cash these days, still haven't got my sim card for this new mobile phone (three weeks now) so I cant use my contactless debit card until I authorise it with my phone the bank wont let me authorise it on my PC Grrr.

I signed up the the Oxford University research test. It started with me getting a test once a week for 5 weeks, then once a month for a further 11 months. All done with social distancing in place. You can stop at anytime you want.
You are notified by post on the result of your test, 8 negatives so far. And the icing on the cake is I get paid for it. £25 a test. You get a voucher via email and you spend it where you like. I usually spend it in Tesco’s.
