Had the morning off work, so after doing my duty and cutting the grass, I thought I'd give the car a bit of a clean.

I bought some Prima Banana Gloss liquid wax a while ago, but had not got round to using it, so after a good wash, I cracked on.

Dead easy to use, wipe on, wait ten minutes, then buff off with a microfibre cloth. No effort at all.

I'll let the results speak for themselves

(sorry about the wheelie bins, but Friday is collection day)

Put a tiny bit of black silicone on the threads or they will keep winding themselves in again

Default Back on the road.

Hi all,
My ZT has been in storage for the last 18 months so, took it for MOT and it passed with just one advisory for the N/S handbrake efficiency a bit low.
Not bad I thought, will be taxed end of the month and looking forward to driving her again
Next job, clay the paintwork and a dam good waxing

Had a 2nd attempt at fitting a lower Lockwood mesh grill. You can see the stainless steel tie wire I used to secure it quite clearly, but I'll replace that with thinner guage stuff when received and it should then be barely noticable - not sure whether to remove the Turbocharged badge when I'm at it (??). It's a massive PITA cutting the mesh to the right size (spent about 6hrs at this!), so my advice is not to bother, unless you really fancy doing it..
I don't think it looks that bad though.. ?

With the help of Steve811.. we set about changing the rear coil springs on my tourer in preparation for my Mot.....
I knew the one spring was broken after spotting it when painting the lower arms etc.

Started off well....pain to get the broken bit of spring from the lower rubber mount, but it was achieved By Steve.
New springs were slightly different, same diameter all the way end to end, old ones were thinner at the ends. Also I chose standard springs... rather than Heavy Duty,.. as I do not tow, nor carry excessively heavy loads.
O/s done... apart from difficult bolts down on the arm...fairly straight forward. No spring compressors needed. ( the guy on the MG youtube video makes it look so easy using air tools on a fairly new car ) they should have been made to do it off a 4 post ramp, on level ground, on a rusty car, with standard over the counter tools.. !

Then we set about the N/s...which started okay.... but it was not.. this spring was also broken, down in the bottom where it sits in the arm.
Then somehow I... broke the rear drop link... came right out of its socket... to get me home, it was put in a vice and popped back in... nobody open with stock

Same kerfuffle with spring piece and lower rubber....but eventually all back and fitted.

Car lowered back onto the ground, and Steve's lad says " its really high on the back ".... oh coca cola thought I ... quick spin around the block and it was fine.. Sitting at its correct level.... no more droopy bottom.....

Now just to order some parts to replace the broken/knackered ones.

And Once again, a Huge Thanks to Steve and family for the help... its really appreciated

Yes mate, I took it steady back, but it was definately a new feel to the car, seemed more precise on the road... no rear end swagger...

After owning the 75 for several weeks without driving it I finally got to take the old girl out for a run, first impressions are that the old girl seems to be in good nick and very smooth, my son was moaning I was going too slow and that our old car was faster, I did point out to him I was flirting with the speed limit and that it feels slower as the car is smoother plus there is no wind or road noise but since when have you been able to reason with a six year old on such things!

I have to admit I was very aware of the fuel gauge dropping considerably quicker than my old car, but hey I think it will be worth the price!
