Door lock jammed.
This morning my car was frozen and the drivers door would not click shut, I messed about with a screwdriver to try to release the latch and reset it. I moved the latch up into the locked position and now I can't release it so the door won't close. Any ideas please?. Thanks, John.

Yes you need to wait for it to thaw out, you could use an hot hair drier to warm up the latch, or pour an hot kettle of water over the lock/latch also push a screw driver into the latch so it acts as the door body catch, see if that helps

Thanks for the reply, I took the door card off and pushed and pulled everything in the door by the lock and it released,, I don't know what I did, but I won't mess with the locks again. I'm too cold to put the door card back on, a job for tomorrow methinks. Thanks again, John.

Liberal application of a bit of white lithium grease to the catch mechanism cured mine of this annoying habit.

That's a good idea, I will do this after I manage to get the card back on, I can't get the clips off the door to refit on to the card. Thanks, John.
