Fit a Mk2 BCU to my MK1 ZT and coded it so that one long press and the boot opens.

Thanks to Jamiewelch for the loan of the T4 so i could do it properly..

Sewerman,
That sounds like a worthwhile mod.
What else is involved, any other parts required? Can you use the same remotes?
And last question, any idea if TOAF is capable of recoding the BCU?

Default First big road trip

First big road trip yesterday in the fully functioning '75 was to London and back to pick up my nephew who is moving back up north for a while. About a 460 mile round trip, nothing fell off, the air con worked, which was nice (if a little noisy - something to investigate) and theres nearly 1/4 of a tank left !
Very comfortable trip indeed and being an estate swallowed up all my nephews life possessions with ease. Sat on the cruise most of the way - only gnarly bit was 20A-22 on the M6. The 75 springs dealt with the London speed bumps with ease.

(Oh and before I left I put in a Sony head unit as nephew wasn't keen of 5 hours of Radio 2 - I must admit it was nice to be able to plug my phone in and get sat nav guidance through the speakers....and listen to some 'classic' metal on the way down. The only cassette tape I have left is the Proclaimers one.....I was far too embarrassed to put that on in public).

Also pleased that the OE speakers seem decent enough quality to deal with Lemmy's finest.

Hi Rich

A mk2 bcu is all that's needed. I don't know if TOAF will read and write the coding properly. You can back up the bcu with it and write it to the new one but how well it does it i dont know.

But using T4 its just a read the old one and writes to the new. Takes all the key coding etc over fine and then used TOAF to enable the boot release.

Hi Mike.
I had a local whom did the same it worked for a few weeks, then one morning nothing again, in the end i swapped over the starter as at the time we did not have any contacts or plunger.

I then later changed his starter contacts and plunger so now i still have a spare starter for the Nano should we ever need it or even have another meet

After finding that both my rear springs (tourer) were broken when I was looking round the week before last, I managed to replace them this morning. Bottom coils were broken on both and I suspect the MOT guys missed them. Biggest pain was being able to clean up the threads on the lower shock absorber bolts; that darned loctite.

Lazy offside rear actuator removed and replaced. One click opening now as it should have been! First time without losing anything, scraping knuckles or swearing! Door innards inspected and the Dynax is working well. Thanks for how to (Jeff D) which I read again last night to refresh my ageing brain!
