Brake lights not working.
MG ZT + 180 MK1
Hi guys. I am having problems with my lights.... N/S dipped beam not working. (Xenon) Dash binnacle lights pulse once when lights switched on then do nothing ... No brake lights whatsoever. Bulb failure light illuminated. Number plate lights not working either but those buggers are always packing in. Does anyone have experience of this issue. I mean it’s unlikely that all bulbs have blown at the same time, although possible I guess. I have cleaned all plenums out, they were blocked but ECU perfectly dry. Thanks for any help. Check the O/S main beam, if that also isn't working, check fuse 9 in the engine fuse panel. The supply to the Light Switch Module is shared between two fuses, 9 & 11. 9 is the feed for the N/S dip, O/S main and number plate lights (among others).

Check the wiring loom behind the n/s light where it crosses the steel beam. There's a ridge there that can cut into the wiring causing a short. Or what Ray says above

If you get stuck, send mickyboy a message, he knows our cars inside out and is only half an hour away from you.

Lights still not working
I have checked all fuses, all fine.
I have changed the light switch module and that made no difference. The screws holding the bumper on, at the bottom are seized so I cannot get the bumper off. Now the bonnet has closed and I am unable to open it....... I think the car has basically committed suicide. |

Check if the O/S main beam is working, if not, and the 50 amp fuse 9 (one of the square ones) is OK, it could be a break/damage in the Brown/Orange cable between the fuse panel and the light switch module.
