Default Spare wheel

Did MGR ever supply a full size (alloy) spare wheel as standard?
The early Tourers (Mk1's) were fitted with the two-piece foam tool tray, if a full size spare was ever fitted I wanted to know if the dished spare wheel trim insert was different to the later version when only emergency wheels were fitted as spares.

According to my 2004 price list full size alloy spare wheel was offered as a factory fit option. Price was £195.00.
A full size alloy spare was standard on the limousine model.

As it does not say otherwise I assume it was therefore available on the saloon and tourer.

On the subject of full size spare wheels.

I assume they will fit into the well on my facelift saloon?

I hate space savers.

I have a full size forked alloy and it fits in the wheel well ok on my facelift. I would expect the wheel well to be the same throughout the model run as I cannot see them changing that large pressing for what was really just a cosmetic change.

Full size spare wheel fits in a tourer with the tray just fine as the depression in the tray fits into the wheel.

Also fits into my saloon too .

Thanks, that sort of answers my query because recently a member on here posted a how-to for 'reducing' the the drop of the tray recess - which apparently is unnecessary. Now I've got all the bits, I'll retrofit my Mk2 Tourer with the old toolkit foam inserts and tray.
