After three years of abuse...
I've had my little Fiat Punto for three years now, I've driven it and other than oil changes it's had very little work. In the last few weeks I've put in a six speed box from a Stilo, it's had many suspension parts, 15" alloy's from a MK2 Punto and tyres to put on them, and a lot of labour, I've billed myself and paid myself with beer for all the work. In the next week or two I'll be putting on it a 16V head and power steering to make it even more fun to drive, when it's done I'll put a video on youtube.
The car had its MOT today, V62 HHU and it passed with a clean sheet at 22 years old and counting, not bad for a car that was around £7000 on the road all those years ago. |

Congratulations on the work carried out, and the pass.

Has the work affected your insurance premium much?

A couple of years ago I was overtaken on a bypass by a Fiat Panda and I was doing about 80mph and it went passed me at least 20mph faster, it went around the roundabout almost on 2 wheels and you could see by the way it accelerated it was no where near standard power.
The problem was it looked unstable and my guess an engine out of something else had been shoved in and the owner was off. It was on standard wheels and standard ride height. |
