Men are from Mars ............
Women are from Venus.
I've been doing lots of those "household" jobs lately. The ones that you will do when you get a round "Tuit"! I do them one at a time. I'm a man. "She" has a list. I have tunnel vision. She has panoramic vision. As I was putting in the last piece of laminate, after much measuring, cutting and swearing, she was nattering about the next job. I just wanted a cuppa and a biscuit. I eat too many "treats". She eats healthily. I've seen "the list". It's very long. Before the paint brushes are cleaned, the next "few" jobs are being listed before my tunnel vision eyes. ............... and by the way, the grass continues to grow whilst you are doing those jobs, so that will need cutting too. A very tired Mike

Life is different when, like me, you live on your own.

Mike - you need to re-establish your wife's priorities.
Here, the memesahib believes that I can do no wrong. I often hear.. why don't you take a break from all this work...why not get the motorbike out and go for a cruise...if your heart's not in this bike anymore, why not buy that one you were showing me the other day....why not sell one of the cars and get that XF Sportbrake you keep drooling over..... But then I did buy her a higher spec 75 than my own and keep offering her an open top as a summer car. Last edited by MSS; 17th August 2015 at 07:10.. |

If things don't change................
It's been a while but things haven't changed!!!
I decided to tidy up the shed and the garage. I did the drilling holes in a piece of timber thing and mounted all the drill bits that I have collected over the years in it, ranging from large to small. Pulled down all the bits of shelving in the garage and re-install neat and tidily instead of haphazard. Replace all the sundry tools and items of "stock" on said shelves (after cleaning of course) and dust down. Starting to get cold, so head in to make myself a hot chocolate. Greeted by "Don't start drinking hot chocolate at this time. Your tea's nearly ready!" After telling the boss that I hadn't had a hot drink since breakfast she "allows" me to have a cup of tea! I wanted chocolate! It's the same size mug! We are becoming more like The Meldrews' or the couple from Last of the Summer Wine, Wesley and Edie! 50 year anniversary this year, so we are not doing too bad on it!

My wife was on at me off and on for 10 years to complete her wardrobe. I did and she then sold the house.

My late partner used to say she was 99% sure that I was an alien, until she declared one day, "now I'm 100% certain!"

My wife is from the far east. When she starts muttering in her own language I know its time to start wondering what have I done . . . . or not done. Does have advantages though, the MIL is about 7,000 miles away!
