Default Genuine Rover roof bar key help required

If there is one, where is the key number stamped on genuine Rover roof bars?

Are key numbers so specific that with the number I can get a key cut?

I have a chance of getting some roof bars but there is no key to remove them, gggrrrr

Lift the black plastic cap up on the roof bars and the lock is behind that. The key number is stamped on the chrome face of the lock.

If by chance the ones you can get are No29, no problem in getting a copy key cut and sending it to you.

The car is at the breakers, I'd worry they will let one and all have a go at the car if I wait. Hopefully today or tomorrow while the car is still behind bars they will let me know the key number, do a deal on the price and I will go and get a key cut. Locally very expensive, £8.99 but I will try elsewhere.

If you can get a key done just take the hole roof bars and rails together.

These are genuine bars on a saloon, not a Tourer. I will keep my fingers crossed they can find the key number.
