Had my first dose of the AZ vaccine on Feb 12th with no side effects at all. The area of my arm where the injection was administered felt a bit itchy a few days later, but that was short lived and I put it down to the 'hole' healing up.

Looking at the wider aspect in our family it seems that both vaccines much like the virus effect different folk in different ways.
We have both had the AZ jab without any issues but have cousins that suffered from adverse effects from the AZ jab but likewise there are the same stories regarding family members that received the Phizer vaccination ie some suffered side effects and some didn't.
With the virus itself our mid 20s super fit grandson came very close to being hospitalised while my sister in law in her mid 50s lost her taste for 2 days and that was it, she didn't fell unwell at all, both were tested Covid positive.

I'm taking my older brother for his first jab on Wednesday to the same place I had mine done about 4 miles away, They wanted him to go to Macclesfield like Mam for his jab weeks ago, He doesn't drive & has been waiting on his doctor to get back to him with a local appointment.

As we all know any medication can have side effects. Normally the packaging contains a sheet of paper listing all the possible noted side effects during development of the drug.

Is it possible that all the effects the vaccine had on the previous posters were from the side effects and not from the working of the vaccine on the bodies immune system ??

Generating anti-bodies is a normal part of the function of our immune systems. ( and not painful. )

The point I'm trying to make is----If someone has had Covid and recovered by himself/herself would it be best not to have the jab, which is only to generate anti-bodies, as the relevant anti-bodies are already in existence in that persons body.

Why feel sore or sick, which is not necessary or helpful to Covid immunity ??

In theory you are correct but the concern is the antibodies wont be enough to protect you against another infection and that is why there is a numerous cases of people getting it more than once. You might not show symptoms on the second time but as we well know it is how contagious you might be and this is probably more dangerous for the population.

Ideally what we all want is for everybody to be immune to bad symptoms but in truth this virus will always be about but only in the background.

It will be another couple of years before they have enough of the worlds population vaccinated for it not to be a problem.
